Artist Guidelines
Last updated August 3, 2026
Adventurers' Song welcomes original human-created artwork inspired by its characters, worlds, stories, rules, and community. These guidelines explain the initial showcase review process and the limited Basic Digital Artwork Permission signed with each submission. The artist keeps all copyright.
- You keep copyright. The signed permission covers only the listed basic digital uses.
- Human art is the focus.Any AI-assisted tools used in the workflow must be disclosed.
- Commercial use is separate.Books, products, commissions, and paid use require another agreement.
What We Welcome
We welcome character and creature studies, environments, story scenes, items and equipment, maps, symbols, and other original visual work connected to Adventurers' Song. Traditional and digital media are both welcome.
Human-Created Work
The showcase is intended for work created substantially by a human artist. Submitters must disclose any AI-assisted tools used in the workflow. Work wholly or substantially generated by an AI image generator is not eligible for this human-art showcase.
How To Submit
Submit one artwork at a time through the art submission form. Provide a viewable link rather than an email attachment. The linked preview should be clear enough for review and should not require us to request access. Review the fixed Basic Digital Artwork Permission, type your electronic signature, and explicitly confirm that signature before submitting. Do not send confidential material or irreplaceable originals.
Review And Selection
Every submission is reviewed by a person. Selection may consider craft, presentation, relevance, available showcase space, and the current needs of the project. We cannot promise publication or an individual critique, and declining a piece is not a judgment on the artist's broader body of work.
Copyright And Display Permission
The artist retains copyright. By electronically signing the Basic Digital Artwork Permission shown on the submission form, the rights holder gives Adventurers' Song nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to reproduce, display, and publish the submitted artwork on Adventurers' Song websites and online art showcases, Adventurers' Song-owned organic social media profiles and posts, and Adventurers' Song email newsletters and subscriber updates.
The permission also allows normal digital presentation: resizing, reasonable cropping, compression, thumbnails, neutral borders or background padding, layouts, carousels, slideshows, short-form posts, the prepared credit or social tag, captions, and accessibility text. It does not permit materially redrawing or recoloring the artwork or removing the artist's signature. A completed permission receipt, identified as Basic Digital Artwork Permission v2.0, is emailed to the submitter.
Commercial Use And Commissions
The Basic Digital Artwork Permission does not authorize paid or boosted advertising, printed or digital books, crowdfunding rewards, merchandise, packaging, sale or licensing of the artwork itself, AI model training, or use by unrelated third parties. Any such use, and any professional commission, requires a separate written agreement addressing scope, compensation, rights, credit, and delivery.
Credit And Public Information
Selected work will be displayed with the artist's chosen public credit. An artist may also provide an optional portfolio or social link. Contact names, private email addresses, and private correspondence are not displayed.
Age And Authority
Submitters must be at least 18 years old or have a parent or guardian make the submission. The submitter must have authority to provide the artwork for review and must not submit material that infringes another person's rights.
Privacy And Removal
Submission information is used to evaluate the artwork, contact the artist, document permission, and prepare selected features. See the privacy notice for more information. The artist may withdraw permission for future uses by emailing treff@adventurerssong.com or using the website contact form. Adventurers' Song will stop new uses within a reasonable time; pages or posts already published may remain in its archives.
This initial showcase process is intentionally personal and selective. As the community grows, these guidelines may be refined to support more artists while preserving clear permission, visible credit, and human review.
